Dissecting the favourites to win Super Bowl LX

As the NFL season rolls past Week 5, the race for the Super Bowl is already starting to take shape. With storylines ranging from powerhouse dominance to unexpected rises, fans across the league are beginning to see which teams are positioning themselves as serious contenders—and which are fading into the background.

At the top of the standings sit six teams, with the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers all boasting 4-1 records.

With the 2025-26 NFL season now more than a quarter of the way through, read on as we dissect the favourites to be crowned Super Bowl LX champions. For those yet to install the sportsbook app, download LiveScore Bet to keep updated on the NFL markets throughout the season.

Buffalo Bills

At the top of the AFC East sit the Buffalo Bills, who have impressed en route to a 4-1 record. Led by MVP candidate Josh Allen and one of the league’s top-ranked defences, Buffalo’s early-season form has made them the clear-cut team to beat in the eyes of many fans and pundits.

However, they suffered their first loss of the season last time out, with a 52-yard field goal with 15 seconds remaining helping the New England Patriots claim an upset win in enemy territory. Was the Bills loss simply a blip? Or, is it a sign of things to come? It appears it’s the former when looking at the betting lines, with the Bills remaining the best-backed to win the Super Bowl this season.

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions, long labelled a potential “sleeper” team, have surged to 4–1 behind the league’s most potent ground attack. Their dominance over the Bengals in Week 5 was one of the more convincing performances of the weekend and may have moved them out of the underdog conversation altogether.

And oddsmakers have taken notice, with Dan Campbell’s side second-favourites with a number of bookies.

Philadelphia Eagles

Although they succumbed to their first loss of the season at the hands of the Denver Broncos, defending champions Philadelphia Eagles have made a habit of peaking at the right time in recent seasons.

The Eagles, now 4–1, continue to look like a team built for a deep playoff run. Despite Jalen Hurts’ inconsistency so far this season, the Eagles’ front seven has imposed its will on every opponent they have faced so far this season. At the time of writing, Nick Sirianni’s side are third favourites behind the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions.

Kansas City Chiefs

Multiple-time champions Kansas City Chiefs have been extremely inconsistent to start this season, with back-to-back losses at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles across their first two games.

While no one is counting Patrick Mahomes out just yet, questions are starting to arise around the Chiefs’ offensive line and inconsistent wide receiver play. With that being said, head coach Andy Reid will take plenty of confidence from a 37-20 rout of the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.

They shortened in the betting lines following their win over the Ravens and currently sit as fourth favourites.
